What a slack blogger I am!!!

I started this blog off with a hiss and a roar, even with big plans of keeping it well and truly up to date.... so.... what happened?... pass!!! lol your guess is as good as mine :)
In the past week I've done all sorts of things including receiving not so good news.... after injecting myself over 100 times, taking 3 pills on a daily basis and traveling the countryside for countless specialist appointments for around 6 weeks during my very last IVF cycle we found out last week that our two little embryos didn't take so that was a bit of a bummer!!!!

It took me a few days to snap myself out of my 'Poor Me' state that I fell into after that news. It was like I was in some sort of black hole. Totally unlike myself to actually feel sorry for 'me' but I believe it really did help me through the 'grieving' process.

I prefer to find the silver lining on every cloud so I'm really happy to say that I'm well and truly back to normal and really loving life again :)

I even got to spend a few hours at the beach the other day while Syd went diving. It was really nice being able to be out in the sun without worrying about getting too hot and risking sweating - when you've had an embryo transfer it's drummed into you not to have a hot spa,  bath or get too hot and the biggest no - no is that you've got to go all out to make sure you don't sweat..... so yeah.... it was nice to be at the beach again :)
We have our own vege garden too so it's been nice getting out there. This week I've bottled tomatoes, apples and pears for the winter. Our peaces don't quite make it that far. I always eat them straight away :)
The best part of the past week is that Syd and I have spent a ton of quality time together. That's been a real treat for the both of us :)

Here's a few photos from the past week :)

I took this photo last week at about 10pm a few hours after I decided that I needed to snap out of my 'poor me' state:) Lol Instead of doing it the easy way and putting my camera on the tripod, I had it balanced on books on a shelf in my room.... Doah!!!!!
I'm more than happy to stay behind the camera but I like how this one turned out :)
Th beach we went to for Syds dive - It's about 10 minutes drive from our house.

Syd after his dive - wishing I would just hurry up and take the photo :)

Some of the tomatoes I picked the other day.... and some that had broken off.

And this is what I had on Sunday afternoon.... It was Y-U-M-M :)

  1. stopping by from the MLAS blog train-

Thanks for the hopeful post! My wife and I experienced infertility problems for years but (blessedly) just celebrated our youngest 10th birthday today. I think staying positive no matter the adversity is one of the greatest gifts we can teach ourselves and it looks like you have that gift! We say a little prayer for you.

  4. HB... You are in my thoughts. I'm sorry for your loss and it was a loss... I'm sure that is why you felt like you were in a deep hole... I'm glad you gave yourself time to grieve. Big cyber hug going out to you.

  5. Sweetie, I'm really so sorry to hear your sad news. At CLD I always sympathized with you and your hubby. I still can be very angry when people talk about "taking babies or not", because it's a gift you will or will not receive. And unfortunately it didn't work out well for you. And like Stef above said: miracles sometimes do happen!
I send you good thoughts from the Netherlands and I admire your strength.
Big hugs from me to you and Syd!
