I walked to the highest point in Northland

Well life has been really weird since my last post. Honestly, there's been so many deaths in our family (sudden/unexpected and through sickness) that I would've made a fortune if I were a professional mourner lol - yes I can lol about it now but it wasn't so funny at the time :)
We also had some highlights - like Syd seeing some of his old work mates for the first time in over 10 years - and they even stayed here with us for a while during one of the funerals.

Monday 29th was our wedding anniversary. Yay!!! We celebrated it by doing a 6hr trek. We walked up Mt Misery (which lived up to it's name - ten fold lol) to Te Raupua which is the highest point in Northland here in New Zealand. It was a real buzz to get there and to see everything including breathtaking scenery and one of the Department of Conservation huts.. Framptons hut is so cute :)

Although it took 6hrs to walk from start to finish, the time actually went really fast. My poor unfit body is really paying for it now though. I have re - discovered muscles that I had long forgotten about and they're still making their presence known two days later :)
